About the Fisher Lectureship

The Alexander Fisher Lectureship is awarded in honor of Alexander Fisher, MD honoring his contributions to the field of contact dermatitis. The lecturer is selected based on his or her contributions to contact dermatitis, reflection of the spirit of Dr. Fisher's enthusiasm for the subject of contact dermatitis, and for sharing knowledge and experience in evaluating patients.

Kathryn Zug, MD Named 2018 Fisher Lecturer

The American Contact Dermatitis Society is pleased to announce that the 2018 Alexander Fisher Lecturer is Kathryn Zug, MD. Her talk will be focused on “Applied Aphorisms and Contact Allergy Revelations”.

Kathryn Zug, MD is the Director of the Dermatology Residency Training Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and a Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Her contact and occupational dermatology clinic is a regional referral center, and she is a member of the cutaneous lymphomas interdisciplinary clinic based at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.   She has been a faculty member at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Dermatology since 1995.

She served as president of the American Contact Dermatitis Society from 2005-2007 and is a member and secretary-treasurer of the North American Contact Dermatitis Group.   She served on the scientific program committee of the 10th  through 12th Congress of European Contact Dermatitis Society and is an editorial board member of Contact Dermatitis. 

Dr. Zug is a co-author of 4 editions of the text,  Skin Disease, Diagnosis and Treatment , published  in English, Spanish, French,  Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Farsi.  She is also co-author of the card deck, Derm-Ddx.  She is author of over 60 articles.  Dr. Zug has taught and mentored many students and residents and directed the dermatology course at Geisel School of Medicine for 13 years. She was elected to the 2013 NH Magazine’s “Top Doctors”.

She graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College and with an academic citation from the Dartmouth-Brown Program in Medicine.

She enjoys being the mother of 3 children, ages 18, 17, and 16.  In her free time she enjoys running, fitness classes, tennis, hiking, reading and walking her dogs.
