The Contact Allergen Management Program (CAMP) is an ACDS member-only benefit which is available to ACDS members and their respective patients. This web-based and mobile resource is designed to help CAMP users manage allergic contact dermatitis and find personal care products that are safe for them to use.
The ACDS is pleased to announce the Dave Severson CAMP internship, available to medical students, dermatology residents and dermatology fellows who have a strong interest in contact dermatitis. This internship opportunity will be conducted over a twelve-week period, throughout the months of June, July and August of 2026, and will focus on developing CAMP training materials and designing and writing a CAMP-related publication. The expectation is that the intern will dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week to this position.

CAMP Internship Responsibilities
The CAMP Internship position will focus on developing CAMP training materials and designing and writing a CAMP-related publication. The position will include collaborating with other members of the CAMP team and the intern will report to the CAMP Director. A stipend of $2,000 is provided. The intern will dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week to this position.
Development of CAMP training materials will involve the following:
- Review existing CAMP training videos for accuracy and edit where needed
- Shorten existing provider training videos for placement on CAMP website
- Develop new training videos when gaps are identified
Designing and writing the CAMP-related publication will involve the following:
- Review existing CAMP-related literature
- Develop expertise in the data elements in the CAMP platform
- Develop publication content and timeline with CAMP Director and confirm IRB approval
- Develop publication outline, write and edit paper with CAMP Director
- Submit disclosure as abstract or poster if timeline allows
- Submit paper to designated journal and complete reviewer-requested edits
Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
- Is a medical student, dermatology resident or dermatology fellow
- Can dedicate 12 weeks, for a minimum of 20 hours per week, throughout the months of June, July and August, with minimal conflicts
- Can meet with the CAMP Director weekly (virtually) for the duration of the internship
- Has a strong interest or background in contact dermatitis
- Possesses strong writing skills and the ability to work with a team
- Will provide a reference from an ACDS member who is in good standing and supports their application
