ACDS CAMP Internship Available – Summer 2021

As previously announced, CAMP is in the process of undergoing a major overhaul to improve the functionality CAMP provides both you and your patients. As part of this initiative, a large focus has been on developing educational resources to assist with patient counseling and support.

The ACDS is pleased to announce a new summer internship opportunity, available to medical students and fellows who have a strong interest in contact dermatitis. This internship opportunity will be conducted over a six to eight week period, during the months of July and August, and will focus on researching, developing and reviewing allergen resources to better assist physicians during the patient counseling process.

CAMP Internship Responsibilities

The CAMP Internship position will focus on researching, developing and reviewing allergen informational sheets for inclusion into CAMP, which will be accessible to both physicians and patients. The position will include collaborating with other members of the CAMP Education Committee and will report to the CAMP Director and the CAMP Education Committee Co-Chairs.

A stipend of $2,000 is provided.

Development of educational content will involve the following:

  1. Reviewing available literature within dermatology Journals, such as Dermatitis, Contact Dermatitis, JAAD, and JAMA Dermatology, to find relevant information needed for updating allergen informational sheets.
  2. Developing dietary and allergen alternative informational sheets based on available literature and resources.
  3. Reviewing current allergen sheets for uniformity, accuracy, and grammar integrity while ensuring a user-friendly format for both patients and physicians.


  • Candidates should be medical students or fellows who are able to dedicate 6-8 weeks toward this project, throughout the months of July and August with minimal conflicts.
  • Have a strong interest or background in contact dermatitis.
  • Possess strong writing skills.
  • Provide a reference from an ACDS member who is in good standing and supports your application.
