Tell Congress: Stop 2027 Fee Schedule Cuts

August 7, 2026

While payment cuts outlined in the 2027 Medicare physician fee schedule threaten the entire physician community, the proposed rule hits dermatology and patch testing disproportionately hard due to the below targeted proposals:

  1. A 50% cut to same-day evaluation and procedure care (modifier 25).
  2. Volatile shifts in practice expense calculations that would result in cuts to dermatological care.

The proposed CY 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule subjects dermatologists to an estimated 9% net payment cut in a single year. With these proposals the patch testing code (CPT 95044) in particular is estimated to be facing a -8.23% decrease in payment.

How can you help?
